The Story of a Monkey on a Stick is a children's book written by Laura Lee Hope. The story revolves around a little boy named Ted, who gets a monkey on a stick as a birthday present. Ted loves his new toy and takes it everywhere with him. One day, while playing with his monkey on a stick, Ted meets a boy named Timmy. Timmy is impressed by the monkey on a stick and wants one for himself. Ted tells him that his monkey was a birthday present and he cannot give it to him, but he promises to try and get him one. Ted and Timmy set out on a quest to find another monkey on a stick. They visit different toy stores, but none of them have a monkey on a stick. Eventually, Ted comes up with a plan to make a monkey on a stick for Timmy. He makes the monkey out of an old broomstick, some rope, and a few other materials. Timmy is thrilled with his new toy and the two boys become good friends. The story teaches the importance of friendship and the joy of creating something with your own hands.
