The Outdoor Girls in Florida, or Wintering in the Sunny South is a novel by Laura Lee Hope, first published in 1921. The story follows the adventures of a group of four teenage girls, Betty, Mollie, Amy, and Grace, who travel to Florida with Grace's family for the winter. They enjoy the warm weather and various activities, including boating, fishing, and exploring the local wildlife. The girls also get involved in solving a mystery related to a neighboring orange grove, which seems to be suffering from a strange disease that threatens to destroy the entire crop. They team up with a young boy named Will, who is the son of the grove's owner, to investigate and try to find a solution. Along the way, they encounter several obstacles and dangers, including a hurricane and a group of suspicious characters who seem to be involved in the disease's spread. With their intelligence, bravery, and teamwork, the Outdoor Girls are able to solve the mystery and help save the orange grove. They also make new friends and learn valuable lessons about the environment and the importance of taking care of nature.
