When her father had told her that Chance had written to him requesting his help to find a suitable bride-of-convenience, and the older man had asked her if she might be agreeable to the arrangement, she hadn't hesitated to say yes. After her father had dispatched a reply, they'd received another letter from Chance, which stated that he was in favor of the match between them, as well. A short time after that, Christine had been packing her bags and preparing to leave her home behind to begin a new life.
