This novel takes place in the winter of 1905, where a luxurious night train departs from New York to Chicago, carrying an elite group of passengers — businessmen, wealthy widows, servants, and intellectuals. What initially seemed like a peaceful journey quickly turns into a nightmare when a series of mysterious murders unfold aboard the train.
Detective Edward Corbin finds himself at the heart of these events, desperately trying to unravel the mystery and identify the killer before the train reaches its final station. As he moves between passengers, questioning them one by one, the mystery deepens — everyone seems to have something to hide.
As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that each victim carried a dark secret — from blackmail and corruption to false testimonies and manipulation. New evidence eventually points to an unexpected culprit, revealing a shocking truth: Detective Edward Corbin himself was the killer all along, seeking to bury his dark past and eliminate his former accomplices.
But the story doesn't end there. Just when everyone believes the case is closed, a mysterious letter arrives, signed by "The Ghost of the Train". The letter reveals that the murders were part of a much larger scheme, and that someone is still watching from the shadows...
"The Unknown Killer on the Night Train" takes readers on a gripping journey filled with suspense and intrigue, where personal secrets intertwine with the threads of crime, proving that the truth is not always what it seems.
