You now have kids. You feel like you should teach them something about God, but you have no idea what. Maybe you used to go to church. Maybe you used to believe something. But now you are not sure what to believe. Or maybe you are a grandparent and this describes your kids.

Sometimes religious stories give mixed messages. For example, in Genesis, God says everything he made was good and he was pleased. But then he was sorry he made people, so he sends a flood to destroy everyone except Noah and his family. As an adult, we can process and interpret or dismiss the story. But a child understands things more literally and may believe that if he or she does not do right, then God will be unhappy or angry at them. This is toxic theology.

This book is written to present healthy spiritual concepts. Concepts that affirm a positive self-image and view of the Divine. Dogma and religious language is avoided. Children of the Great Light is a trilogy consisting of three stories:

Beginnings: The Great Light sets the stage. It answers the question, "Where did we and everything come from?" Out of Love, the Great Light created the world and everyone is a child of the Great Light. It totally bypasses the evolution vs. creation debate.

Light of the World, the second story, teaches that each child is different and special with their own gifts. They let their light shine by using their gifts for others. In a dramatic turn, a selfish child's light becomes dim, but is restored when he is reminded of his true identity.

Always with You is about a child who becomes lost, but is shown that she is really never alone. The Light will never leave her.

The message is, you are created out of Love. You have the Light within and it will always be there, no matter what.
