Taking the formation and development of the Hui as the main line, the author gives a comprehensive discussion of politics, economy, culture and religion of the Hui in various historical periods. It demonstrates in detail the ethnic origin of the Hui and its polymerization from the perspective of development relations between China and foreign countries; it arguments at length their political activities and economic structure within the Hui national environment from the clue of development of Chinese history; it explores commonness and individuality of the Hui, cultural connotation and the sinicization of Islamic culture from the perspective of the pattern of multiple-integration of Chinese nation.
