This document presents instructions for using OverDrive Audiobooks and Music with a Palm device. By following these steps you will learn how to install the necessary software on a Palm and how to transfer OverDrive Audiobooks and Music to the device.
This guide is intended for use with Pocket Tunes Deluxe v3.1 (or newer), Windows Media Player Series 9 (or newer), and OverDrive Media Console v2.1 (or newer) on Windows. For help using OverDrive Media Console, see the OverDrive Media Console FAQ at http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/faq.asp.

How to Install and Activate Pocket Tunes v3.1.8 (or newer)
- Ensure that the device supports Pocket Tunes. A list of supported devices can be found at http://www.pocket-tunes.com.
- Purchase and download the Deluxe version of Pocket Tunes from http://www.pocket-tunes.com. Ensure that you have received your confirmation email. This email contains your registration code.
- Connect your Palm device to your computer and perform a Hot Sync operation.
- Double-click 'ptunes.exe' to begin installation.
The 'Welcome' dialog box is displayed.
- Click 'Next'.
The license agreement for the software is displayed.
- If you agree to the terms, click 'Next'.
The 'Components' dialog box is displayed.
- Leave both options checked in the 'Components' dialog box and click 'Next'.
The 'Install Folder' dialog box is displayed.
- Accept the default installation location, or change it if you prefer, and click 'Next'.
The 'Palm User' dialog box is displayed.
- Select the device on which you wish to install Pocket Tunes, and click 'Next'.
The 'Optional Components' dialog box is displayed.
- In the 'Optional Components' dialog box, select any optional components that you are interested in. None of these options will affect the playback of OverDrive Audiobooks and Music. When you are finished selecting options, click 'Next'.
The 'Start Installation' dialog box is displayed.
- Review the installation information in the 'Start Installation' dialog box. If you are satisfied with your choices, press 'Install' to begin installation.
- When the installation is complete, click 'Finish'.
- Perform a Hot Sync operation.
- Start Pocket Tunes on the device. A message is displayed indicating that the device must restart. Click 'Restart' to restart the device.
- After the device restarts, the 'Please Register' dialog box is displayed. Click the 'Register…' button.
The 'About Pocket Tunes' dialog box is displayed.
- Enter the registration code that you received via email from Pocket Tunes in the 'Registration Code' text field and click the 'Done' button.

How to Transfer OverDrive Audiobooks and Music using Pocket Tunes v3.1.8 (or newer) and OverDrive Media Console v2.1 (or newer)
- Connect the Palm device to your computer.
- Start Pocket Tunes.
- In OverDrive Media Console, highlight the title you wish to transfer and click the 'Transfer' button.
The OverDrive Media Console Transfer Wizard is displayed.
- Verify that the correct title is displayed on the first screen of the Transfer Wizard and click 'Next'.
The Transfer Wizard searches for a connected portable device. When your device is detected the 'Confirm' screen is displayed.
- In the 'Confirm' dialog box, select the Part(s) you want to transfer by checking the box(es) next to the Part name(s).
- Click 'Next' to transfer the file(s) to the device.
When the file transfer is complete, the Transfer Wizard displays a 'Success' message.
- Click 'Finish' to exit the Transfer Wizard.
You can now disconnect your Palm device and enjoy the title.
